Reward for information on Malheur Reservoir fires being offered

Officials believe the fires are human-caused and started on July 11, between 1 and 5 a.m. It is seeking information that pertains to the fires.

VALE, Ore. — Both fire investigators and law enforcement officials are seeking the public's help in the investigation of the Cow Valley, Bonita and other small wildfires that are burning the Malheur Reservoir area. A reward is being offered for information that can assist in these investigations. 

Officials believe these fires began in the early morning hours of July 11, between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m.

The fires are believed to be human caused, and of a suspicious nature, said a news release. 

Anyone with information about any of these fire incidents should call We Tip Anonymous at 1-800-47-ARSON, online at wetip.com. 

This multi-agency investigation is made up of Bureau of Land Management Vale District, Oregon State Fire Marshal, Malheur County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police.
