Two people from Weiser die in head-on crash on US-95

Police say the crash happened Sunday morning when a 48-year-old woman drifted off the road, then overcorrected and drove into oncoming traffic.

WEISER, Idaho — Idaho State Police say two people from Weiser died in a head-on Crash on the US-95, near Sunnyside Road, south of Weiser.

The crash happened at about 9:30 a.m. when Christine Dove, 48, of Weiser was driving in a 2010 Toyota Corolla southbound on US-95 when she began drifting off the road, then overcorrected and crossed into oncoming traffic, according to police.

Investigators say when Dove overcorrected, she crashed head-on into a 2008 Ford Escape, driven by 71-year-old Lois Bridge of Weiser.

Dove and her passenger, 67-year-old Roy Dove of Weiser, died from their injuries at the scene.

The two juvenile passengers in Dove's car were taken by ambulance to Weiser Memorial Hospital in Weiser.

Bridge was taken by an air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The status of Bridge and the two juvenile passengers and the extent of their injuries are unknown.

Roy Dove was the only occupant to not wear a seatbelt.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
