Friday Night Football: Scores, highlights from final week of the regular season

Catch up on southern Idaho scores from each classification and watch Friday Night Football highlights from the final week of the regular season.

BOISE, Idaho — A spot in the Idaho high school football state championships were up for grabs in Week 9 as teams across the Gem State battled in their final regular-season contests.

Friday's 5A SIC championship game rematch between top-ranked Eagle and No. 3 Meridian certainly lived up to the hype. After tying it up at 14 and forcing overtime, the Warriors found the end zone first. The Mustangs followed it up with a score of their own and converted a two-point conversion to win 22-21.

In the cross-division games based on standings, Middleton, Boise and Owyhee claimed their seventh wins of the season, while Rocky Mountain and Mountain View improved to 6-3. All five squads head to the state playoffs. For the Brave, it's their first post-season appearance since 2002.

At the 4A level, Twin Falls rolled past Minico 49-15 to capture its first Great Basin Conference title since 2018. In Boise, No. 1 Bishop Kelly ended Skyview's five-game winning streak and completed a perfect regular season in the Knights' first campaign under Chris Culig.

Also rolling into post-season play at 9-0 is No. 2 Homedale, who earned a 34-7 victory over McCall-Donnelly in Friday's 3A Snake River Valley Conference showdown. Kimberly (3A) and Declo (2A) both remained perfect with wins over Gooding and Wendell respectively.

No. 5 Nampa Christian claimed the 2A Western Idaho Conference championship on Saturday by defeating No. 4 Melba 36-22 in KTVB's Game of the Week. The Trojans have won six-straight games after starting the season 0-2.
