BOISE, Idaho — A seismic weekend of statement wins and surprising losses rattled the 6A classification in the latest Idaho high school football state media poll, released Tuesday.

Rocky Mountain climbed into the top spot following a 42-8 win over Washington's Chiawana at the Northwest Showdown. Former No. 1 Coeur d'Alene dropped several spots after losing to Lewiston, while Highland soared with its Saturday victory over Summit (Oregon).

Aberdeen and Declo swapped spots in the 3A rankings after the Tigers secured a shutout win over the Hornets at home. West Side swept the classification's first-place votes ahead of Week 3.

Two new teams entered the state media poll Tuesday, including undefeated Madison, who emerged victorious in non-conference clash with Middleton. Kamiah (2A) made its debut after defeating Council for its second consecutive win.

The prep football rankings entering Week 3 are listed below by classification, as voted on by sports reporters across Idaho. Before action kicks off, vote for KTVB's Friday Night Football Game of the Week:
