BOISE, Idaho — Eight squads in each classification seek a spot in the semifinals as the Idaho high school football state playoffs continue with contenders clashing in the quarterfinals.
Four SIC teams stand in the 6A bracket after Middleton and Kuna advanced with wins over Highland and Timberline, respectively. Rocky Mountain and Eagle make their postseason debuts at home following first-round byes.
Frontrunners in the 5A classification collide at 7 p.m. Friday as Minico visits Bishop Kelly. The winner awaits the victor of Saturday's showdown between Skyline and Twin Falls at the ICCU Dome.
The Snake River Valley Conference is well-represented in the 4A quarterfinals, with a trio of teams competing for a trip to the final four. Homedale hosts Buhl and Fruitland travels to Kimberly on Friday night, while Weiser welcomes American Falls at 1 p.m. Saturday.
