NAMPA, Idaho โ The air quality for the Treasure Valley is currently considered red or unhealthy due to wildfires burning in surrounding areas, according to the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.
As of a result of the Air Quality Index being 165 in certain locations Wednesday, all outdoor open burning activities are prohibited. The IDEQ issued an Air Quality Forecast & Caution for the area.
Whenever the AQI reaches 75 or above, various regulations kick in. Idaho DEQ's burning regulation list varies by counties on what burning activities are regulated.
The quality of air is currently unhealthy with levels expected to increase during the morning and evening hours. Levels may carry over to very unhealthy levels or the purple category, as well as the moderate or yellow category.
