MERIDIAN, Idaho — Christmas is the season of giving and a wonderful time to spread holiday cheer. Located in central Meridian, a group of high schoolers called 'The Lost Boys,' are preparing to perform at upcoming charity events.
The group is a hip-hop dance crew comprised of seniors from Rocky Mountain High School.
"It really means a lot to me, especially because we’re self-taught," said Elliott McPeak, "We’ve been working for about two years out of our director Chase’s garage and we’ve been putting in a lot of work to become as good as we are, to get better, and to hopefully put forth our best work."
The Lost Boys have been training and competing for two years with no professional guidance.
"From when we first started to where we are now it’s a really big change and I think being able to go out and perform at these charities, I think it’s just really nice to go out there and see all my friends and all of the work we put in finally pay off by performing at these charities, it’s just super great," said Chase Heffernan.
"I really love The Lost Boys," said Bodie Bullock. "It really shows that anything you set your mind to you can achieve and especially by going to these charity events, it really shows that anything is possible."
The group is now sharing their newfound love of dance with local holiday charities, including at the Saint Alphonsus Festival of Trees at the Boise Centre on November 27 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. They will be performing alongside Elevated Dance Project, a local dance studio in Eagle.
