BOISE, Idaho — Dreams of playing for a championship become reality this week for two teams in each classification as the Idaho high school football state playoffs reach the semifinals.
The 6A final four features SIC frontrunners Rocky Mountain and Eagle. The Mustangs visit Coeur d'Alene at 7 p.m. PT Friday in a rematch of last year's semifinals, while the Grizzlies host Rigby eyeing an undefeated title game appearance.
Minico looks to play spoiler again when it squares off with top-seeded Skyline inside the ICCU Dome on Saturday. The Spartans secured a 41-35 triple-overtime victory at Bishop Kelly in the quarterfinals.
4A SRV powers collide for the second time this season Friday night as Weiser travels to face Homedale. The Wolverines claimed a 30-6 win over the Trojans on Oct. 4. Both squads fell in the 2023 semifinals.
Action gets underway Thursday with a pair of matchups in Pocatello. Defending state champion Butte County hosts Hagerman at 5:30 p.m. in the 1A bracket, followed by a 4A showdown between Kimberly and Sugar-Salem.
