BOISE, Idaho — An exciting offseason stretch of scheduling and stadium storylines continues for Bronco Nation. Boise State and Notre Dame on Tuesday announced the two football programs will meet for a non-conference game in 2025.
The massive matchup set for Oct. 4, 2025 marks the Broncos' first contest in the state of Indiana. Boise State will be in the national spotlight when it takes the field in front of more than 80,000 fans next fall inside the historic Notre Dame Stadium.
South Bend has played host to 273 consecutive sold-out games featuring the Fighting Irish. The 2025 bout is the first meeting between Boise State and Notre Dame.
Notre Dame will pay Boise State $1,350,000 for the road game, according to the contract sent to KTVB. The buyout for the game is the same cost. The Broncos have the option of purchasing 5,000 tickets.
Boise State Athletics on May 30 announced a home-and-home football series with App State, starting with a showdown at Albertsons Stadium on Sept. 27, 2025, the week before visiting the national powerhouse. The Broncos will make their debut in the Tar Heel State on Sept. 4, 2027 against the Mountaineers.
The 2025 season opener against South Florida at Raymond James Stadium is scheduled for Aug. 30. Boise State then hosts Eastern Washington for the home opener at Albertsons Stadium on Sept. 6, 2025.
Boise State and Notre Dame both rank in the top 10 among FBS programs in all-time winning percentage. The Fighting Irish sit fourth at .730, while the Broncos rank sixth at .725.
Head coach Marcus Freeman guided his group to a 10-3 record last fall, capped off with a 40-8 victory over Oregon State in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl. In ESPN's 2024 Football Power Index (FPI) released Monday, Notre Dame landed at No. 7 nationally.
Boise State's whirlwind 2023 season saw the Broncos capture their record fifth Mountain West title and reach bowl eligibility for the 26-straight year. Spencer Danielson was promoted after becoming the first interim head coach in FBS history to win a conference championship game.
All away game ticket orders are fulfilled by Boise State using the Bronco Athletic Association priority rankings. BAA members and season ticket holders have priority over the general public and non-members.
Boise State opens the 2024 campaign at Georgia Southern on ESPNU at 2 p.m. MT on Saturday, Aug. 31. Additional kickoff times and TV broadcast networks for this season were announced on May 30.
